THE Torfaen AM was on hand to officially re-open a vital community service in the constituency at the end of last month.

The New Inn Pharmacy has relocated from its old smaller premises to occupy the old Post Office site at The Highway, New Inn, Pontypool.

The space at the new location means the pharmacy now has a consultation room and separate treatment room which will allow staff to deliver the new Choose Pharmacy Common Ailments Service, Medication and Discharge reviews, NHS Flu vaccinations and other NHS Wales services to the community.

Lynne Neagle AM said: “I was delighted to attend the opening of the New Inn Pharmacy and was very impressed not only by the fantastic new building but also with the variety of services offered by the pharmacy.

“The patients I met seemed thrilled with the new premises and I think it’s a real asset to the community. I wish the team the very best for the future.”

Superintendent Pharmacist Craig Hink and his staff held a grand reopening for customers to get the first glimpse of the new facilities.

He said: “We’re really excited to have been able to develop a Pharmacy designed to cope with the changing NHS and to be able to deliver services to our patients in the heart of the community.”

The pharmacy is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm.
