A bullock was hit by a passenger train near to Blaengavenny, which is affecting all services between Abergavenny and Hereford.

A spokesman for Arriva Trains Wales said: “The incident involved the 2.30pm from Manchester Piccadilly to Milford Haven service.

“It appears the train struck a bullock rather than a bull and it was just the one animal involved and the train is currently at Blaengavenny.

“About 30 minutes ago, all services south and north were on stop. The train has suffered no major damage, quite minor damage.

“Engineers arrived at the scene between 5.30pm and 5.45pm to the clear the line.
