FOOD and drink makers in Abergavenny pitched their products to Morrisons in an attempt to gain a place on the supermarket’s shelves, when the new store opens next year.
Fifteen producers were invited to St Michael’s Centre in Abergavenny where they pitched to Morrisons buyers, customers and the Monmouthshire Women’s Institute on Friday, October 6.
Morrisons said it wants the new Abergavenny store to be one of the country’s most local supermarkets with some food and drink made ‘just down the road’ from the community and people in the area helping to decide which producers are successful.
The most popular producers from the event will now be invited to meet Morrisons in a final round interview and successful suppliers will see their products stocked in the new store.
