AN INFORMATION session, which allows Torfaen residents to trace their family trees, will be moving to a new weekly timeslot.
The popular family history sessions held at Blaenavon World Heritage Centre and Library every Thursday morning will be moving to new a Friday morning slot as of December 1.
The free sessions are held between 10am and 1pm, and are run as a partnership between library staff and volunteers.
As well as support and advice to help customers discover more about their family trees, the sessions also provide free access to software such as Find My Past and Ancestry.
Cllr Alan Jones, executive member with responsibility for libraries, said: “These sessions have been running for seven years now and are a real success.
“We have helped hundreds of people to discover more about their families and have had visitors from as far away as the USA and Canada who have travelled here to find out more about their history.
“We would not be able to do this without the vast wealth of knowledge of our library staff and volunteers and I would like to thank them for making the sessions so successful.”
