GWENT Police has issued an appeal to find 30-year-old Lee Frost who has absconded from Prescoed Prison in Usk.
Frost was last sighted on Monmouth Road in Abergavenny on Wednesday, May 9 at around 10am, wearing green trousers and a navy sweatshirt although he had other clothing with him.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: "He was convicted for actual bodily harm, grievous bodily harm and criminal damage on November 25 November 2016 at Swansea Crown Court.
"Lee Frost is not a registered sex offender but it’s believed there may be a potential risk due to the fact that the individual is no longer in the custody of the prison service.
"Lee Frost has connections in the Carmarthen and Swansea areas and Gwent Police has activated its operational plan with the aim of locating him, and the prison is co-operating fully with us.
"If anyone has seen Lee Frost or has any information about his whereabouts they are asked to ring 101 quoting log 152 9/5/18."
