SHOPPERS came from far and wide to visit a new market which is being trialled in Chepstow.

Chepstow Town Council has teamed up with Cotyledon Food and Craft Markets for the three month trial running until June.

A total of 29 stalls offered a wide range of locally products, with food and hand crafted gifts on offer.

Chepstow Musical Show Choir and Class Act provided entertainment, while stallholders sold products including cheeses, meats, crafts and a hog roast was also on show.

A spokeswoman for Chepstow Town Council said: "It is proving very popular.

"We had a really good turn out with people coming across from Bristol and further afield."

The market will be returning on Sunday, June 10, with more stalls on offer.

After then the council says it will look into the possibility of extending the scheme.

Cotyledon Food and Craft Markets also has markets in Newport and across Gwent.
