A POPULAR Pontypool pizzeria will be hosting a pop-up pizza and Prosecco night this month to mark its anniversary.

Family-run Porky’s Pizzeria, which opened in Pontypool town centre in the late 1980s, will take over the indoor market for the event.

The celebratory evening, to mark its 30th anniversary, will be taking place on Thursday, June 21.

Guests will be treated to a glass of Prosecco on arrival and a three course meal, including their favourite pizza freshly cooked.

Mike Daley, who is the owner of Porky’s Pizzeria, said: “Last year was our thirtieth birthday and we didn’t do anything special to mark it, so this event will be our slightly belated birthday party.

“We want to say thank you to our loyal customers, some of whom have been visiting us since we opened, and also hope to welcome some new faces.”

And Councillor Alan Jones, who is the executive member with responsibly for business at Torfaen County Borough Council, added: “It is fantastic to see an independent, family run business like Porky’s going from strength to strength after 30 years in the town.

“Pizza and Prosecco are a winning combination and it is great that the indoor market is again able to host something different for the people of Pontypool.”

Tickets are £15 and can be bought directly from the business or from Pontypool Indoor Market.

Tickets will include a glass of Prosecco, food and live entertainment.

Soft drinks will be available to purchase and guests are invited to bring their own alcohol at no extra cost.
