A POPULAR post office gets the stamp of approval at the National Post Office Awards ceremony.

Blaenavon Post Office, in Broad Street, has picked up an award for "exceptional customer service" in the Post Office Retail Sales Awards.

The ceremony - which celebrates "the hard work, community spirit and excellent levels of service" - was held in London on Saturday, June 16.

Owners Nick and Wendy Horler picked up the award.

Mr Horler said: "We are really very proud of our achievement and we are really delighted to receive this award for the second year in a row.

"We all work really hard to offer our customers a great service and we are pleased the Post Office has recognised our efforts through this award."

Mr and Mrs Horler opened the business in 2015 after the existing office in the town decided to close.

The CEO of Post Office Retails, Debbie Smith, said: “People working in branches such as Blaenavon are passionate about what they do, working incredibly hard every day, providing services that really matter to our customers.

"They are key to ensuring our branches thrive at the heart of communities across the UK, not just for today’s customers but for future generations too."
