A MAN collapsed at the Caldicot Town AFC clubhouse on Sunday afternoon (October 28), and required CPR before an ambulance arrived.

The match referee was one of the people who helped treat the man.

Reports suggest the man had regained consciousness by the time he was taken to hospital.

In a statement on social media, Caldicot Town AFC said: “Our thoughts go out to [the man] who collapsed in the club earlier.

“He was taken to hospital conscious for further treatment.

“Good luck and get well soon.”

In the same post, the club quoted their bar steward as saying: “I would like to say how proud I am of everyone at Caldicot Town Football Club today.

“Everyone worked as a team and thankfully the result was fantastic.

“Special thanks to the away side and the referee, and also to our “first aiders” – you were amazing.

“Our love goes out to the family and wish a speedy recovery.

“Caldicot Town...one big family.”
