LOCAL refugee charity iNEED will host a fundraising event on Saturday, March 30, to celebrate a month since the charity moved into its new home.

Originally based in Caldicot, iNEED moved to Chepstow, but returned to the unit it first occupied on the George V playing fields in Caldicot in February.

Saturday's fundraiser takes place at the town’s Bethany Baptist Church and will include a cake sale, refreshments and a table-top sale of donated items.

The charity's founder, Julia Rowe, said: “It is as vital as ever to raise funds for those displaced by the conflict in Syria or escaping from persecution and war elsewhere.

“We continue to collect donations of clothes, bedding, toiletries and non-perishable food to send directly to refugee camps and we work to support families who have been rehoused in South Wales.

"All funds from the event will go directly to our registered charity to help those in need at home and abroad.

“We’re all volunteers and if you’re interested in finding out about our work or would like to help process donations, fundraise or promote our work, or if you just want to grab a bargain over a cuppa, please come along on Saturday between 10am and 12 noon.”
