THE old Railway Inn was close to Blaenavon's low level Station on the corner of Bridge Street and Corn Street.
It was owned in the early twentieth century by Westlake's Brewery but was sold in the early 1950s to the Rhymney Brewery Co.
The horse and cart depicted in this photograph from the Torfaen Museum's archives, is thought to have belonged to Great Western Railway and some of the Blaenavon Station GWR staff and young porters are also in the photograph.
Nostalgia is provided by Torfaen Museum.
The museum has many thousands of nostalgic, local photographs and if there is somewhere you would like to know more about or would like to know if there are any available old photographs, please contact the museum 01495 752036.
The museum’s library and archive is open by appointment on Wednesdays and Thursdays or volunteers are available to research your enquiry.
