A WOMAN is to go on trial in the summer accused of causing the death by dangerous driving of a 65-year-old man.

Cerys Price, 27, has denied being responsible for killing Robert Dean, from Cwmcarn, on the A467 between Rogerstone and the Bassaleg roundabout in Newport.

The 27-year-old has also pleaded not guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving to Jack Tinklin.

The allegations are said to have taken place following a collision on July 15, 2016.

Price, of Limestone Road East, Nantyglo, appeared before Judge Michael Fitton QC for a pre-trial review at Cardiff Crown Court.

She was represented by John Dye and the prosecution by Timothy Evans.

Price is due to stand trial on July 22 and the case is expected to last at least five days.

She was granted unconditional bail.
