A NAME has been chosen for the colourful trail to entice people to Torfaen – Pontypool Floral Festival.
The Festival this September, will open private gardens to the public and the council has agreed to install a rugby-themed floral display depicting the famous Pontypool RFC front row of Charlie Faulkner, Bob Windsor and Graham Price.
The name was put forward by Phil Jude of Balmond Terrace, Pontypool, who wins £25 of horticultural vouchers. His was among dozens of ideas we had sent in since details of the festival were released.
Now we want youngsters to design a logo with the best winning a prize the whole family can enjoy. Entrants must be primary school pupils or younger and have until Friday, June 29 to send their colourful ideas in to Keith Fairbank, Free Press Series News Editor, Newsquest, Cardiff Road, Maesglas, Newport NP20 3QN.
The winner and their family will experience true luxury at the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff. They will enjoy one night's stay in the Junior Suite* with breakfast, a picnic lunch to enjoy on a fabulous fun day out and a lovely evening meal. The children will have access to daily ice cream – a sure fire way to keep them occupied while parents enjoy the luxury the city centre hotel has to offer.
The whole family will be able to choose their perfect fun day out – it could be an up close and personal tour with Dr Who, a Merlin Magic trip to Cosmeston Country Park or a day full of weird science at Techniquest.
*Junior Suite subject to availability. For details, visit hilton.co.uk/cardiff or call 02920 646300. Usual Newsquest competition rules apply.
