A MAN is calling for buses to run later to Blaenavon, he says it is "cut off and isolated".
Jamie Skyrme, 20, said people using public transport to get back up the Valleys have to cut their night short as the last bus arrives in the town at 10.18pm. The X24 service from Newport, Cwmbran, Pontypool and Blaenavon has one later service but it terminates at Varteg.
Mr Skyrme, of Broad Street, said: "I rely on public transport and it's absolutely dreadful."
He has started an online petition calling for later buses, and a Facebook group has more than 150 members.
A Stagecoach spokesman said: "If it doesn't appear to be commercially viable, we may approach the local authority to see if they would support later journeys for the good of local people."
