A MAN accused of murdering his former boss admitted holding him and three former co-workers captive in New Inn.
At Monday's hearing at Cardiff Crown Court, Russell Carter, 52, admitted four counts of false imprisonment, but denied three counts of attempted murder and one count of murder.
Carter, of Penrhos Crescent, Rumney, Cardiff, is charged with murdering Driverline 24/7 company director Kingsley Monk, 45, of Maesygarn Road, Oakdale, on October 20 last year.
He is also accused of trying to kill his former co-workers at the New Inn business, Robert Lewis, Nathan Taylor and Gethin Heal.
Carter wore grey trousers, a light blue T-shirt and brown tinted glasses as he entered his pleas. Following the hearing Carter, who has dual British and Canadian nationality, was remanded in custody until his trial at Newport Crown Court on Monday, August 24.
