The people of Chepstow are invited to bring unwanted, yet still useful, items and materials to The Severn Bridge Social Club Car Park in Bulwark, Chepstow on Sunday 20th May and to take away any items/materials they can make use of.

This event, which is organised by Transition Chepstow and supported by Monmouthshire County Council, aims to reuse goods rather than throwing them away and filling up landfill sites.

The idea is for people to bring goods (such as household items and toys) that are still useful but no longer needed, so that others can help themselves.

Items can be taken from the event site between 10am and 4pm, though the last time for dropping off items is 2.30pm.

Donors do not need to remain with their items, as Transition Chepstow will provide marshals during these hours.

Anything you take is at your own risk, and there is no guarantee that anything will work. Any goods left over will offered to charity, and the remainder recycled where possible.

No money will change hands, the idea being that this event enables people to pass on unwanted goods to those who can make use of it, free of charge.

The event is not intended for commercial traders.

Please do not bring any livestock, hazardous goods or rubbish. Electrical goods are welcome.

Small items such as books and stationery are not really suitable, but toys are in demand. People arre asked to put labels on less usual items.

Items in several parts should be securely fastened together and items that could be damaged by the weather should be protected.
