TWO young brothers have grown monster sunflowers but were left disappointed after a competition they were going to enter was cancelled.

Oliver and Reuben Davies, aged ten and six respectively, grew the 11ft 2ins sunflowers to enter the sunflower competition at Chepstow Show.

The boys planted their seeds in April and have been nurturing them ever since. However, the show was cancelled due to bad weather.

The brothers first entered the competition last year and won it with their entries that stood at 6ft 2ins. Undeterred, the boys will repeat the process all over again next year for the competition.
