Pontypool man admits to being drunk and disorderly

A PONTYPOOL man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly on a town estate at 2.15am in the morning, a court heard.

Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court heard yesterday that Matthew Price, aged 23, of St Matthew’s Road, Pontypool, was banging on doors and trying to start a conflict with residents at The Woodlands, Pen-y-Garn, on September 30.

Prosecutor Rob Simkins said Price was banging on doors, staggering around drunk, using abusive and aggressive language when police officers tried to tell him to go home. He was arrested after persisting.

Defence solicitor Rod Young said Price had lost his house keys and was trying to get spare ones from his cousin.

Price pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and was fined £70, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
