1. How did you get into your current job?

I joined Axiom as Quality Manager in 2007, assumed responsibility for Test and Engineering departments in 2009 and was appointed Operations Director in 2014.

2. What’s the best bit?

The job is a great adventure, the fact that I don’t know who may be visiting in the near future, or what technologies or applications they may be using, keeps this business at the sharp end of technology and innovation, and that is just fantastic.

3. What was your first Saturday job?

Trainee service technician in a Television repair shop (I kept the tools in order and the tea hot!)

4. Describe your ideal job? :

Operations Director at Axiom Manufacturing Services.

5. What motivates you?

Seeing Axiom grow in terms of maturity, profitability and sustainability

6. And what irritates you?

Consultants – specifically those who have failed at doing a real job in the real world.

7. Who do you most admire in business and why?

James Truchard – co founder and CEO of National Instruments (NI), he built a technology business in which started in 1976 with 1 computer and a home –made prototype circuit board, in 2012 NI had 35,000 customers with a revenue of $1.12billion.

8. What was the last book you read and what did you think?

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. – This book reinforces my particular belief.

9. What do you do to relax?

Walk the dog; I take full advantage of Welsh mountains, coastline and fresh air.

10. What dreams are you still fulfil?

To see my children living happy, fulfilled lives

11. What was the last film you saw at the cinema and what did you think?

Batman & Robin in 1997, I thought that Arnold Schwarzenegger was an excellent bodybuilder, but there are opportunities for improvement as an actor there….

12. Favourite food and place to eat it?

Mexican – home cooked, eaten at home or in the garden.

13. What car do you drive?

Mercedes E Class

Be prepared for constant opportunity and totally apply yourself to make it happen.
