UK Data centre operator Next Generation Data Limited, which has a base in Newport, has been included for the first time in the The Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table of fastest growing private UK technology, media and telecoms companies.

The 14th annual Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table ranks companies with the fastest-growing sales over three years.

NGD is placed at number 55 having achieved more than 60 per cent annual sales growth over the past three financial years to December 31, 2013.

Company chairman Simon Taylor said: “This is our first appearance in the Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table since opening our NGD Europe mega data centre in Newport at the start of 2010.

"It is especially pleasing as it underlines the success of our business vision and strategy which has enabled us the unusual achievement of combining high year-on-year sales growth with consistently high profitability.

"Our continuing belief that both large and smaller growing organisations increasingly require more secure and less expensive co-location data centre facilities compared to those traditionally found in and around London has been well and truly proven. This is further evidenced by our strong forward sales pipeline and highly sustainable business model.”

NGD Europe already houses several blue chip technology multi-national organisations such as IBM, Wipro Technologies and UNIT4 in custom data halls which complement its original anchor tenants BT and CGI (previously Logica). A nationwide Channel Partner strategy has also been successful in making NGD’s rack space, power and infrastructure available to third party systems integrators and service providers who are able to take full advantage of NGD’s world class data centre asset.

The company is also winning a growing number of deals from locally-based fast growing cloud service providers including Newport’s Certus IT and Sir Terry Matthews’ AirVM.
