Welsh SMEs working in the construction and property sector will be given an opportunity to discuss supply chain opportunities and how to engage with large companies, at an event coordinated by Business in the Community and Santander UK.

Access the Buyer: Construction & Property, which will be held at the Riverfront Arts Centre in Newport on October 14, will bring together Carillion, Costain Ltd, VINCI Facilities and Bowmer & Kirkland with SMEs working in the construction and property sectors in Wales.

The SMEs attending the event will be presented with a unique Buyer Challenge from each of the large companies focussed on a live commercial project. Through the interactive and engaging format of the event, the SMEs will be able to respond to this Challenge, highlighting what they would bring to a collaborative project in the future.

The event involve a mixture of presentations, roundtable discussions and structured debates around the key issues faced by SMEs in the construction and property sectors.

It will also feature presentations from Queensberry Real Estate (the developers of Friars Walk) on engaging with developers and from the CITB on the Welsh Government’s Community Benefits policy.

Business in the Community Wales is calling on SMEs in the Welsh construction and property sectors who are interested in exploring supply chain opportunities with large corporates to register online to attend the Access the Buyer event on 14 October.
