ANewport law firm is hosting a seminar to advise employers on how to adjust to the recent changes in the law with regards to holiday pay and flexible working.

HardingEvans will advise employers on how to handle flexible working requests and requests for reasonable adjustments in an event taking place at Tredegar House, Newport, on November 18.

The seminar will cover a range of topics including what an employer should do when presented with a request for flexible working and what the consequences are for failing to follow the new legislation.

The seminar also will deal with the implications of key cases on holiday pay which determine what should be taken in to account when calculating holiday pay.

Earlier this year the law on the right to request flexible working fundamentally changed, meaning that all employees who have 26 weeks’ service now have the right to request flexibility, irrespective of their reason for the request.

Previously only employees with children under 17, those with disabled children under 18 and those that are carers had the right to request flexible working.

Tickets to the event cost £60 per person, which includes lunch. Those looking to book a place should contact 01633 244233 or email cliftonc@hevans.com
