HOME wins have always been important to Newport County AFC footballer Mike Flynn and now he’s aiming to find winning homes for customers of his new estate agency business.

Flynn, a player and youth development coach at County, has teamed up with Mark Crook and Richard Hudson for his new venture – Crook, Hudson & Flynn.

As well as vast experience in the business world, both Crook and Hudson also have strong links with the Exiles.

Crook, the joint managing director of Henry Howard Finance, has been a big financial backer of the club’s academy structure in recent years.

And Hudson, an account manager at Henry Howard Finance, is the nephew of Colin ‘Rocky’ Hudson – a fans’ favourite at Somerton Park in the 1950s and 1960s.

Flynn is following in the footsteps of former County legend Gary Plumley by becoming an estate agent and he’s excited to be tackling a new industry.

The 34-year-old from Pill said: “I love a new challenge and I’ve got to look at life after football. My main focus is the academy and playing at the moment but there is life after football.

“Richard is full time and Mark is a silent partner but we all chip in and help each other.”

The trio have opened up their new showroom in Salisbury House, The Square, Magor, and are offering an all-inclusive service including sales, lettings, tenant finding and referencing, property management and mortgage advice.

“We’ve looked at the market and we feel we can give a better service and better value for money,” said Flynn.

“With our introductory offer you can sell your house from as little as £600 including VAT.

“We want to offer a personal and professional service and between us we have more than 20 years experience in this business.”

Hudson, who has 15 years sales experience, is certain that Flynn can successfully swap helping Newport County climb the table for helping people onto the property ladder.

“From the short time I’ve known him I know that Michael is very keen to learn and he knows everyone around Newport so I’m sure we can make this a successful venture,” he said.

And Flynn is keen to attract supporters from Rodney Parade.

“I’d love to sell a few Newport County fans’ houses and I’m sure they’ll be happy with the service,” he added.

“Like when I’m playing I’ll make sure that no stone is left unturned and we’ll give them the best service possible.

“It’s an exciting new challenge for me and I want to make people happy by finding their dream home or saving them money on estate agents’ fees.”
