Cwmbran’s Parkway Hotel and Spa has officially opened its 10 news luxury bedrooms and suites, built as part of a £1.5m investment by it’s owners de Savary Hotels.

The rooms include eight executive rooms and two suites, which bring the hotel’s number of rooms to 80.

The rooms were added to the hotel's offering in a bid to let it develop its markets into new areas, offering a luxury option it has previously been unable to offer guests.

De Savary bought the hotel in November 2012 and since then has undertaken a refurbishment of the building and grounds.

The development was undertaken by Newport firm Davlan Construction.

The Parkway is run on a day-to-day basis by Kerry Jennings, the general manager, who said she was delighted with the way the rooms, which are already proving popular with guests, had turned out.

She said the rooms showed that the hotel and spa were confident about the future, which will see a convention centre being built at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport meaning more capacity is needed locally for delegates attending events at the centre.

By creating the new luxury bedrooms and suites, the Parkway is hoping to tap into that market, as well as being able to up its offer business people and others visiting the area.
