Superbowl UK, which looks after eight sites across the UK, has appointed Leigh Alger as its area manager for Wales, including the one set to open next month in Newport, following three site acquisitions in South Wales.

Leigh, 25, from Cardiff, joins the senior management team at Superbowl UK ahead of the launch of the company’s latest site at Friars Walk in Newport, which will open in March 2016.

Wales’ first Superbowl UK site opened last year in Cardiff’s Stadium Plaza and was quickly followed by a second at the Merthyr entertainment village.

The family-owned business is currently putting the finishing touches to its newest site in the recently-opened Friars Walk shopping development in Newport city centre. The new location will boast state-of-the-art bowling lanes, a Laser Quest Arena, and Crazy Club soft play area.

Leigh previously worked for Superbowl UK as a manager for its Cardiff site, before moving to Merthyr to head up the team and oversee the launch.

Leigh said: “The launch of Superbowl UK Newport is just around the corner and I’m looking forward to opening our doors to local residents for everyone to enjoy.”

Behind Superbowl UK is growing leisure business QLP Limited, which has a total of eight entertainment complexes across the UK including sites in Hull, Widnes, Macclesfield and Great Yarmouth.

Founder and director of QLP Limited Kate Quaintance-Blackford said: “Due to our rapid expansion in South Wales over the past year, the time was right for us to appoint an area manager to further nurture our growth in the region.

“Leigh is dedicated, hardworking and understands the fast moving pace of the leisure industry. His management of Merthyr and Cardiff has been excellent and I have no doubt he will be able to lead Superbowl UK Newport on to great things.”

Superbowl UK Newport is set to open its doors to the public on Thursday, March 17.
