Newport-based price comparison website Gocompare.com has demonstrated its commitment to high performance through good people management and has been awarded gold accreditation against the Investors in People Standard, placing the company within the top seven per cent of accredited organisations across the UK.

Gocompare.com was launched by a team of insurance experts in November 2006 and it was the first comparison site to focus on displaying product features rather than just listing prices.

The company has gone from a group of just six people sat around a kitchen table to a thriving and still growing business that is one of the UK’s most popular comparison websites.

IIP is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results.

Underpinning the standard is the IIP framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

Paul Devoy, head of IIP, said: “We’d like to congratulate Gocompare.com. Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success. Gocompare.com should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

Jon Morrell, CEO of Gocompare.com, said: “I am delighted with our gold accreditation from Investors in People, which is testament to our continued commitment to our people.

“We work hard to create and nurture high-skill jobs in south Wales by supporting people with various aspects of their personal and professional development, thereby helping to strengthen their skills, increase their productivity and enhance their career opportunities.

“Investing in people is a win-win, as the dedication and expertise of our employees is instrumental to our success, and their on-going motivation is part of what makes this company a great place to work.”
