'Barbers to the stars' Jac and Dee Ludlow have expanded their successful Bo Jangles British Barber Club into new premises in Griffithstown.

Olympic boxers and regional rugby players are often found waiting for a space in a chair at the shop. The Calzaghe family, and 2012 British Champion boxer Kody Davies, are regularly seen at the shop.

The barbering brothers established their original shop on Windsor Road two years ago in March 2014.

The opening of the newly-refurbished premises on Windsor Road in Griffithstown has been driven by a loyal and growing customer base which has now outstripped the capacity of the original shop.

The new shop, opposite the original premises, features four bespoke barber stations, products from leading men’s hair care range Dapper Dan, and industry leading equipment supplier Scissorhands UK providing the tools of the trade that the team of barbering experts will use.

It is anticipated that the new store will continue to appeal to local customers, and provide a welcoming and relaxing space for the pop stars and sportsmen who only have their hair cut by the Bo Jangles British Barber Club barbers, some travelling hundreds of miles for the privilege.

Jac Ludlow, founding partner and master barber, said: “The opening of the new shop is something we could not have dreamt of just over two years ago. Opening our first shop was a dream in itself, and we are truly thankful and overwhelmed by the level of support and loyalty shown by our customers.

“South Wales already has some of the best barbers in the UK, and to achieve success in this market is no mean feat.

"The skills of the competition keep us at the top of our game, and our customers constantly challenge us to innovate and deliver new styles for us to showcase. We can’t wait to take the business to another level at the new shop.”

Barbering partner, international recording artist and brother Dee Ludlow said: “From small beginnings, our flamboyant style of old-school barbering has caught the imagination of many local people.

“In the new shop we will continue to offer a warm welcome, hot coffee and some scorching new styles. Gents these days are not afraid to invest in their personal grooming and appearance – we have a huge responsibility to make our customers feel good when they walk out of the shop – and we never forget that.”

The new business has seen a major investment transform the new premises into a modern retail barber environment. All staff at Bo Jangles follow best practise industry training and development courses, and work is overseen and mentored by the lead barbers Jac and Dee.

The shop offers a truly unique and friendly customer experience, with partner Jac Ludlow a member of industry body Lions Barber Collective, a charitable group created to raise awareness of mental health issues in young men, with a clear focus on suicide prevention.
