Vedic Vibes formed by students of Duffryn High School are the regional winners of the Young Enterprise of the Year (Newport & Monmouthshire) and will represent the area in the Wales final in June.
Competing against six other young enterprise companies from the region at the regional final that took place in the University of South Wales, the entrepreneurial team from Duffryn High School won the Best Trade Stand & Interview category before claiming the overall title for The Best Young Enterprise Company.
The eight-strong team of students have been selling handcrafted henna candles throughout the year creating unique products for a range of different occasions. Vedic Vibes then sold their candles to fellow pupils and parents at Duffryn High School as well as at fairs and events they booked stands at.

Blathaljac, King Henry VIII - winners of Best Use of IT / Social Media, sponsored by A2Z Computing.
Kath Lewis, chairman of Young Enterprise Wales (Newport & Monmouthshire), said: “We would like to congratulate all of the teams who entered this year’s awards and especially our finalists. The companies, their teachers and business advisors had evidently been putting a lot of hard work in during the year and Monday’s event benefitted from their efforts.
