Newport solicitors RDP Law has appointed a new partner.

Michael Feakes joins the firm as head of commercial litigation, overseeing the firm’s dispute resolution practice, which represents businesses, farmers and landowners across south east Wales and the West Country.

RDP now has 11 lawyers, all based at the firm’s offices at Langstone Business Village, on the outskirts of Newport.

Mr Feakes joins RDP after spending several years working for large commercial law firms in Bristol.

He said: “I am pleased to be joining the team at RDP Law. The firm is well known as a niche commercial practice, and as such it is set apart from other local firms.”

Mr Feakes, who trained in the City of London, said: “RDP has a reputation for providing a very focussed service for its clients, drawing on their wide experience of the commercial sector, and I am looking forward to playing a role in that.”

Sioned Thomas, partner at RDP Law, said: “We are delighted to welcome Michael to the RDP team. He will bring many years of experience to our dispute resolution practice. Our firm started in the 1990s, and has expanded gradually since then. Recruitment of another partner illustrates our continued growth.”
