NEWPORT’S Mojo The FoodBar is preparing to unveil a very tasty pop up as part of the city’s annual food festival.

The leading fine dining and cocktails restaurant and bar at 1 Clarence Place, is a sponsor of the Tiny Rebel Newport Food and Drink Festival 2016.

Mojo will open a Dog ‘n’ Dough pop up restaurant on High Street positioned near Tiny Rebel’s Urban Taphouse, from 9am to 5pm serving its distinctive, delicious real American hot dogs topped with mouth-watering 24-hour baked pulled pork and its other unique home-made toppings. A range of American lagers, craft beers and soft drinks will also be available.

The bar restaurant will also have a pop-up cocktail bar with Mojo’s celebrated mixologist, head bar tender, Andrej Madaras, on hand to concoct a full range of luscious cocktails. Mojo ice lollies with a real difference will also be on sale.

All the Mojo pop-up food food and cocktails will be priced at £5 on the day.

Seng Koh, of Mojo The FoodBar, said: “The Newport Food Festival provides us all with a wonderful opportunity to come together to celebrate everything that is good about our city. We’re delighted to once again be able to play our part on the day by not only providing excellent food and drink but by supporting Newport Food Festival by being a sponsor.”

Ben Periam, culinary development chef at Mojo The FoodBar, will host one of the chef demonstrations at the festival using high quality, fresh ingredients, some foraged, together with local meat, fish and eggs.

The Tiny Rebel Newport Food and Drink Festival 2016 takes place on Saturday, October 1 and will have some 80 stalls, the return of the popular Teenchef competition and expert chef demonstrations.

The main activities will centre on High Street and Newport Indoor Market, but this year’s festival will also present a range of fringe events, from a Friday evening festival supper at Newport’s Ridgeway Bar and Kitchen, to a treasure hunt, outdoor chef demonstrations and children’s competitions at Friars Walk, all made possible thanks to the support of local businesses.

Organisers say there will also be live music and street entertainment on the day, ranging from samba and rock, to face painting and magic.

This year’s exhibitors will be ready to fill your fridge with delights including meats, cheeses, spices and preserves, breads, pastries, cakes and crepes, to pies, pasties, oils and sauces. There is also Asian, Greek, Italian or Welsh street food, burgers, pizza, paella or seafood, ice cream and beer, ale, wine, cider, spirits or something soft.
