Work has begun to build nine industrial units on the final phase of the development at Beaufort Park in Chepstow.

The units will total 16,343 sq ft in size, starting from 1,187 sq ft, and provide additional industrial / trade counter space in the town.

The Charnwood Group is developing and constructing the high-quality units, which will provide flexibility in terms of size and will also include the possibility of installing first floor accommodation to provide additional offices, if required.

The units will be available to rent from mid-2017 with joint agents M4 Property Consultants and Jenkins Best appointed by The Charnwood Group.

Andrew Creighton, of Charnwood Group, said: “The units built during the initial development have proven to be very popular and attracted largely national companies including Homebase, Basepoint serviced offices and Mon Motors with Chepstow Ford.

“To date we have provided retail and office space within the scheme. However, we believe that there is a lack of high quality industrial / trade counter units and that is what this final phase will provide.”

Dan Smith, director of Newport-based M4 Property Consultants, said: “Chepstow has long suffered from a shortage of good quality small industrial / trade counter units. The flexible nature of this development will ensure that is it appeals to both national and local occupiers alike. We know there are many local companies who given the right opportunity would like to grow their business and we hope to be able to accommodate these. By speaking to us early, units can be tailored to meet the needs of individual occupiers.”

Henry Best, director of Jenkins Best, said: “With excellent links to the transport infrastructure serving both south Wales and the South West of England, the development occupies a strategic location. Forthcoming changes to the Severn Bridge toll will ensure that the location becomes even more attractive to those businesses undertaking working either side of the bridge. For these type of companies, you could find a more strategic position, literally a stones thrown from the original Severn Bridge.”
