Cyber security will be the theme of the first free ‘Big Breakfast’ organised by the Dragons of Newport Business Networking group of 2017.

Cyber security expert Damon Rands, who is also an experienced key note speaker with more than 25 years working in the information technology industry, is the guest speaker for the event on March 8 at the Bisley Suite at Rodney Parade, Newport.

Damon will be advising and educating the attendees about the types of real-world threats that all businesses encounter daily and how to implement best practices to protect their intellectual property and private information.

To complement the guest speaker, KN Office Supplies is sponsoring the event and will be promoting its document and data shredding services which includes on-site options. It launched a mobile shredding service in South Wales in 2014 and have recently invested in a new lorry due to the increase in demand.

The ‘Big Breakfast’ remains free to attend for all visitors with a light breakfast and refreshments provided as well as facilitated networking sessions prior to the guest speaker.

John Newell, chairman of the Dragons of Newport, is keen to encourage local businesses to register to attend and to explore the advertising opportunities available to them.

He said: “While we are very pleased to have secured KN Office Supplies as our main sponsor, we want to encourage other local businesses to promote their products and services at the event. There are a range of advertising packages available and with over 100 local companies expected to attend it is a fantastic opportunity for them to generate interest.”
