Welsh financial firm Bartholomew Hawkins, which has a branch in Chepstow, has been named Welsh Financial Planning Firm of the Year.

The company picked up the title at the Citywire Annual Conference and Awards 2017 in London.

Richard Lord, managing director of Bartholomew Hawkins, said: "Myself, my co-directors Ian Davies and Paul Freeman and our senior financial planner, David Hulse, attended the annual Citywire Conference and Awards in London’s prestigious Park Plaza Hotel.

"The highlight of the event is the annual awards, where the cream of the crop of financial planning firms are awarded nationally for on-going excellence within the field.

"We were delighted to win the Welsh Financial Planning Firm of the Year award. This recognises the direction, progress and results of a firm which is now beginning to dominate the independent, private client advice market place locally.

"I am delighted that the progress we have made has been formally recognised and that the firm has received such an important national accolade," he said.

This annual event is regarded as one of the best events in the diary for financial planners and wealth managers.

Keynote speeches came from Dr Catherine L Mann, chief economist and head of economics at OECD, retired MP, comedian and political commentator Gyles Brandreth, and Sir Clive Woodward, ex Lions head coach, head of the British Olympic Team and head coach of the World Cup winning side of England in 2003.
