Water treatment company Siltbuster has invested £4.3m in its expansion plans with the purchase of a 10-acre site in Monmouth.

The deal was helped by commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton handling the terms of the sale on behalf of the landlord.

Siltbuster has operated out of three separate sites in Monmouth since it was founded in 2000.

It has outgrown its current facilities at Unipure House and is set to relocate its entire operation to the new site on Wonastow Road.

The move will mean the firm will have the space to increase its headcount from 48 to 120 staff by 2020.

Siltbuster has become the leading solutions provider for on-site water treatment, wet waste processing and the prevention of waterborne pollution in the UK.

Business unit manager Richard Coulton said: "This move will allow us to expand our market share considerably given the scale of the site coupled with the strength of a location close to good arterial roads that connect us easily to all parts of the UK.

“By staying in Monmouth we are able to retain what has become a loyal and well established workforce which we plan to enhance through the recruitment of a number of engineering-focused disciplines, from engineering and design roles to logistics and associated support staff.”

Siltbuster’s core business is providing a fleet of large-scale water treatment equipment for the construction industry, food and drinks market as well as water utility companies with the equipment available mostly to hire but also to purchase.

The bespoke new 2,000 sq mt headquarters, which will include offices, workshop, warehousing and a storage yard, have been designed and are under construction at the new site with the relocation phased and set to be complete by September 2017.

Owen Griffiths, associate director at LSH, said: “Siltbuster has become a key employer in Monmouth so we are pleased to have played a part in delivering a site that keeps them in the area and gives this impressive business room for further growth.

“This particular deal forms part of a wider strategy for the adjoining development land where we as marketing agents are looking to add to the existing job creation opportunities and support the local economy.”
