Two young entrepreneurs from Newport are targeting the growing Welsh film and entertainment industry by offering specialised services and hire of a new facility designed to help with action sequences.

Flawless Action Design studio in Queensway Meadow Estate has been set up by Jacob Rogers and James Hayman to offer professional support for film productions, rehearsals, workshops and more, and has a particular focus on the action genre.

Co-founder Jacob Rogers said: “We specialise in choreography and pre-visualisation services for directors, fight choreographers, stunt coordinators or even actors that have action scenes planned. We can help directors develop these scenes and the best way to shoot them.

“We also provide talent training, so if you are an actor that needs to physically transform for a role or learn martial arts, we can help.”

James Hayman said: “The Welsh film industry is becoming increasingly important to the Welsh economy. We are seeing major movies filmed in Wales, including the latest Star Wars movies, which we are huge fans of. The Welsh movie industry needs local support services to sustain it and to make producers and directors feel comfortable and reassured that it’s worth producing their films here.

“Flawless Action Design has been set up with this in mind. Not only do we have great facilities, but we understand the process as we make films ourselves. Plus, Jacob is a trained martial arts instructor, so we are confident producers and directors will appreciate and benefit from what we have to offer.”

Flawless Action Design has been fitted out with a 11m by 10m matted area with full length wall mirrors for choreography and fight planning, as well as crash mats and various other pieces of film equipment.

The studio can even support green screen filming with a 6m by 3m green screen complete with lighting.
