A leading South Wales property law firm has given an oarsome insight into its tactics for claiming glory at the 2017 Monmouth Raft Race.

Insight Law, which has chosen St David’s Hospice Care as its nominated charity for the year, is entering a crack team into the race intent of lifting the winners’ trophy.

Insight Law partner Paul Jones said: “Although it’s the first time we’ve entered a team into the Monmouth Raft Race we’ve prepared hard, have everything in place and are determined to push for glory from the start.”

The law firm has christened its raft Insight Oar after the firm’s Kathryn Willdig won a competition to name their craft.

Insight Law, based at Cardiff Gate Business Park, has already completed a range of events in support of St David’s Hospice Care including g Transporter Bridge abseil, Moon Walk, Severn Bridge Walk, the Lottery, Big Welsh Brew, Jolly Jumper Day plus regular clothes donations and the Kolor Dash.

Organisers, Monmouth Rotary Club who have staged the annual River Wye Raft Race for the past 15 years, will once more raise funds for St David’s Hospice Care through its staging of the 52nd Monmouth Raft Race.

Monmouth Raft Race will be staged on Sunday, September 3, starting at Monmouth Rowing Club.

Monmouth Rotary President, Sandra Davey, said: “We are extremely grateful to Insight Law for supporting the event by entering a raft and look forward to meeting the team on the day.”

Tania Ansell, of St David’s Hospice Care, said: “We’re delighted Insight Law has added to their lengthening list of ways that they are supporting the charity by entering a craft into the Monmouth Raft Race this year. We wish them all the very best and look forward to welcoming them back at the finish to enjoy the Finish Festival at Tump Farm, Whitebrook.”

The major sponsors for this year’s raft race are BDW South Wales, Mandarin Stone and Tiny Rebel. Award sponsors are Siltbuster, Jolly Clothing, Harrison Clark Rickerby Solicitors, and EE Monmouth. Further awards sponsorship opportunities remain available, as are stalls at the family festival at the finish.
