Entrepreneurs starting, running or growing their own business can benefit from a series of free workshops delivered by the Welsh Government’s Business Wales service.

The courses aim to equip budding entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge to develop their ideas further, making their business a success.

Delivered by experienced advisers, the workshops are designed to provide in-depth knowledge, develop practical skills and inspire confidence among aspiring Welsh entrepreneurs at the start of their business journey.

They help delegates assess their personal skills and cover a variety of topics, including business and financial planning, pricing, marketing, sourcing funding, recruitment, legal and compliance issues.

Workshops will take place as follows:

Starting and Running a Business – Taking the Plunge: 9.30am to 4pm: Monmouth – Monday, October 16; Newport – Thursday, October 19.

Business Wales also offers courses for people who already run their own business:

Tax and Bookkeeping: 9.30am to 12.30pm: Newport – Tuesday, October 10th.

Sizing up the Market: 1.30pm to 4.30pm: Newport – Monday, October 23.

Councillor Bob Greenland, cabinet member for enterprise at Monmouthshire County Council, said: “One of the council’s priorities is to support business and job creation so we’re delighted to recommend these helpful workshops to anyone aiming to start their own business in the county.”

Business Wales’ regional manager for South Wales, David apjohn-Williams, said: “A central part of our strategy at Business Wales is to encourage and support business start-ups, growth and job creation across Wales. We believe that our workshops provide a great opportunity for people in the area to gain an understanding of the key principles and practical skills, required to start and run their own business.

“We are delighted to be able to host these workshops for people in Monmouthshire and I strongly encourage everyone who wants to take their business idea further or to grow their business to come along.”

Business Wales, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, supports the sustainable growth of small and medium size enterprises across the country by offering access to information, guidance and business support.
