The Principality building society branch in Newport city centre is moving to a new base in John Frost Square.
The society, which has been based on the corner of Skinner Street and High Street for years has taken a vacant unit between Newport Library and Starbucks, close to the new Friars Walk retail and leisure development and the Kingsway Shopping Centre.
Julie-Ann Haines, chief customer officer at Principality Building Society, said: “We are excited to be relocating our Newport branch so we are at the heart of this new development in Friars Walk.
"We will be opening our doors to members in December.
"Following colleague and customer research we're designing a branch with a new approach. We want our branches to be at the heart of the local community, so we’ve focused on creating a ‘home from home’ with features such as a self-serve refreshment area, free wi-fi and a children’s entertainment space where they can have the opportunity to learn basic financial skills.”
