Cwmbran-based law firm Rubin Lewis O’Brien is holding a second free drop-in event to prepare people in the event themselves or a loved one passes away or becomes incapable of managing their own affairs.

On Tuesday March 6 from noon to 2pm at Cwmbran Library, people will be able to chat to experts from the firm regarding wills, trusts, probate and lasting power of attorneys.

Damian Lines, partner at Rubin Lewis O’Brien, said: “This is an opportunity for members of the public to drop-in and obtain free advice about their personal situation in relation to these sensitive, but important, areas of the law.

“Too many people put off until tomorrow what should be done today. In a time when so many families are made up of second or third partnerships and marriages, the need to protect your wishes with regards to who inherits or who is responsible for what is becoming increasingly important.

“Families are more complex than ever; this should not be a barrier to sorting out your affairs but even more of a motivating factor. Matters as important as these apply to all ages; it is never too soon to put a Will or Lasting Power of Attorney in place. Life has a habit of throwing up a curve- ball every so often – so be prepared and attend our event if you able to.”

Accompanying Mr Lines at the drop-in event is his colleague Laura Seby, partner. Both Damian and Laura are trust estate practitioners, a hard won and important qualification that is not widely possessed by firms across the UK.
