Melin Homes has entered into a three-year partnership with Robert Price builders’ merchants for the supply of materials.

The group were successful at tender and will supply the housing association with a full range of building, mechanical and electrical materials from its branches across South Wales.

Dave Cook, executive director of people, homes and communities at Melin Homes, said: “We were impressed by Robert Price’s commitment to the wider community, their processes and innovation.

"With 22 branches across South Wales there will always be a branch nearby. We are looking forward to developing our relationship and finding new ways of working so we can improve the maintenance services we offer to our residents.”

Robert Price is the largest independent builders merchant in South Wales. Last year it celebrated its 170th anniversary, and is looking forward to continued growth and development.

David Pattison, head of public sector business at Robert Price, said: “We’re delighted to develop our relationship with Melin. The partnership will enable us to further develop initiatives improving efficiency of operations while ensuring sustainable employment and development of staff for both companies.”

Robert Price will be holding an 'innovation open day' on December 5 at its Newport branch with supplier stands and specialists for the repairs and maintenance sector. It is encouraging local SMEs to attend.
