Newport-based Centurion VAT, an independent VAT specialist, has promoted David Bartlett to VAT manager.

David joined a year ago from Deloitte and has been advising clients in the corporate, education and housing sectors on their complicated VAT issues.

Liz Maher, director at Centurion, said: “David has been a great addition to our expert team. His technical and people skills fit really well into the key ethos of Centurion, which is to build long term collaborative relationships with our clients.”

David said: “I am delighted with my new role as VAT manager at Centurion and excited to help the team by taking on the new responsibilities that come with the position. Centurion is a great company to work for. All of my technical colleagues have a ‘Big 4’ background with experience in industry and HMRC, so this is the perfect environment for me.”

The year to March 2019 has been another incredibly successful year for the Centurion VAT team and turnover has increased by 50 per cent. Topical issues for clients this year have related to Making VAT Digital and Brexit – wherever VAT has become complicated, the team has been there to support.

Liz said: “With the growth in demand for our VAT consultancy services we are delighted with the contribution David has brought to our clients – the search is now on for our next VAT Specialist recruit.”
