USK Conservation and Environment Group have made a three-strong finallists shortlist at the 18th annual Tidy Wales Awards.
The Usk group are named in the Long Term Effort category, and will learn their fate at the National Museum of Wales on Monday, November 17.
The ceremony recognises people from every corner of Wales that have made real and lasting efforts to restore their blighted local environments to a semblance of their former glory. Many of the locations tackled will have suffered many years of wanton vandalism and neglect.
The 11 category winners will each receive a cash prize of £500 and related trophies, while the overall winner will receive the specially commissioned bronze Tidy Wales Trophy and an additional cheque for £1,000.
The ceremony is co-ordinated by Keep Wales Tidy and sponsored by Environment Wales and Visit Wales. The winners will be presented with their cheques and trophies by Jane Davidson AM, minister for environment with television and radio presenter Sian Thomas introducing each category winner.
