PONTYPOOL Round Table had a great fireworks display at Pontypool Park last night, thought to be the biggest yet.
Colin Guest said: "The weather was good and we had a massive crowd of around 10,000. I would like to thank all the people who supported the event.
"The display is now by far the biggest in the area. We are a victim of our own success as we had to delay the fireworks due to the volumes of people at the gates."
The Cwmbran Display was restricted by numbers which also had an affect. Pontypool Round Table would like to apologise to the people who had to wait but thanked the police for providing an excellent service on the day.
Mr Guest added: "As we now know we have a great support for this event we will be able to make it even better next year. We have raised a lot of money for charity if anyone knows of need our support you can contact us via pontypoolroundtable.co.uk"
On behalf of the Round Table, he expressed his thanks to Alex the manager and staff of Pontypool Park, Vibe Experience who provided the crowd control, DJ Les Paul, Cwmbran Vale Rotary, Pontypool Regeneration Partnership - and Rory Stratton who has helped to organise the fireworks for more years than he would like to remember.
