Workers go green and do their rounds by bike

THESE workers from Monmouthshire are getting on their bike to do their bit for the environment.

The Flying Start team in the county are forgoing their cars for short journeys and are to use their bikes instead.

The scheme's manager Beth Watkins said her teams do a lot of health visits with families of children aged up to 4, and are based within the areas they cover.

As a result not only can the team reduce their petrol expenses, but they hope to lower their carbon emissions as well.

Staff are all undertaking cycle proficiency tests before they head out off out on to the streets of Abergavenny, Monmouth, Caldicot and Chepstow.

"It will help boost staff well-being and mean we can be positive role models for the parents we support too," she said.
