THE main road through Tintern will be closed for periods this week due to forecasted high tides.
The A466 A466 through Tintern will be closed for short periods on the following dates and times. As soon as the water has receded from the highway – the road will reopen.
The closure points will be as follows:
North End closure: Trelleck Road junction
South End closure: Royal George junction
Closure times are estimated based on the forecasted tide times. The highest tide currently forecast is Wednesday night – when road closures are most likely. The tide heights will continue to be monitored – with temporary closures only being put in place if overtopping on the highway occurs.
Potential closure times are as follows:
Tuesday September 9th: 20:50 to 21:20 (8:50pm to 9:20pm)
Wednesday September 10th : 9:10am to 9:45am
Wednesday September 10th : 21:35 to 22:05 (9:35pm to 10:05pm)
Thursday September 11th : 9:55am to 10:30am
Thursday September 11th : 22:10 to 22:45 (10:10pm to 10:45pm)
