CHART-TOPPERS Blue will play at Chepstow Castle as part of the star-studded Castell Roc Festival in August.

The group, whose albums All Rise, One Love and Guilty all reached number one in the UK charts, will play the festival on August 29.

Also playing as part of the festival, the 1980s will be back with the Monsters of Roc show on August 21, when AC/DC tribute Hells Bells, Led Zeppellin tribute Letz Zep and ZZ Top’s double The ZZ Tops will all play on one stage on a night where air guitars will be obligatory.

And From The Jam and Bad Manners’ Bruce Foxton will play at the Mod: Ska Gold, playing some of the songs that made the bands famous including Going Underground, That’s Entertainment, A Town Called Malice, My Girl Lollipop and Lip Up Fatty. That show will be held on August 22.

Fresh from the West End, The Simon and Garfunkel Story will arrive in Chepstow on August 23, telling the story of the duo’s humble beginnings to worldwide stardom, culminating in their Central Park reunion concert in 1981.

Organiser Carol Hobday said: “Plans for 2015 have been extraordinary. We have been inundated with hundreds of artists looking for slots. The interest has been absolutely amazing, which can only be put down to the truly gorgeous venue mixed with the wonderful atmosphere created by the public.

“Being born and bred in Chepstow, it’s so nice to see people come, see and enjoy the town. We are blessed to have Chepstow Castle and we are very grateful that CADW who own it and the residents of the town are supportive of what we try to achieve.

“My only suggestion is to grab tickets in advance. Tickets for the shows are strictly limited and we know that last year saw many people wait until the last minute, only to be disappointed.”

Newport’s Goldie Lookin Chain will bring their hip-hop along the Severn Estuary on August 26 along with their high octane live set.

And they will be followed on August 27 by 11-piece band Bellowhead, whose album Hedonism is the highest-selling independent folk album of all time. They have been credited by BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans as being one of the best live groups in the world today.

And Queen tribute A Night of Queen is back on August 28 after a show sold out last year. Performed by The Bohemians and earning praise from Brian May, the show will contain all of the superstars’ hits.

Fellow rock masters Electric Light Orchestra are celebrated by ELO Again on August 29.

Last year, the festival and the towns castle played host to Rhydian Roberts, The Beautiful South, Abba Mania and The Wurzels.

Each event will also include arts and craft stalls by Winds Of Time, available from midday on each day. All proceeds from them will go to Children in Need and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
