AROUND 100 children enjoyed a teddy bear’s picnic at Usk Castle yesterday.
The event, held as part of the annual Usk Festival for the fourth year, saw the children, ranging from babies to five years-old take part in a teddy bear hunt around the grounds of the castle and watch their teddy's parachute from a tower.
The youngsters brought their teddies along and had the chance to launching them off the castle’s north tower and parachute onto the lawn.
All the children, along with parents and grandparents also enjoyed a picnic and many other activities.
Organiser, Meirion Howells said: “It was a wonderful day that brought lots of smiles to the children’s faces.”
He added: “The weather was glorious and everyone had a fantastic time. As well as parachuting their teddies off the tower the children took part in a treasure hunt around the grounds to find teddy bears dressed as knights.”
The event was free to attend but any donations made will be divided between Usk Castle Friends and the community funds being raised towards the National Eisteddfod which will be held in Abergavenny next year.
