POLICE are appealing for information after an attempted distraction theft in the car park of Waitrose in Monmouth.
The incident occurred at around 4.30pm on Friday, August 28.
A female shopper was approached in the car park by two men who had foreign accents.
As she was giving one directions, the other stole a card from her bag. It was later used, unsuccessfully, in attempting to draw money from a cash point.
Police are appealing for members of the public to be vigilant of this type of theft.
Anyone with information, in particular a woman who asked the victim whether she was alright, to call 101 quoting log number 338 28/8/15.
