THE fifth Shirefest music festival held on the weekend was a success say organisers as the event keeps growing.
Shirefest was held on Saturday in the Huntsman Hotel, in Shirenewton which saw 17 bands from across the UK perform on two stages. The event attracted more than 300 people and is in aid of the Noah's Ark Appeal which raises funds for the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital based in Cardiff.
Last year's event enjoyed a record-breaking charity donation raising £4,000 for the children's hospital and Little Hearts Matter.
David Watkins, one of the organisers, said: "It was very well attended. The festival has been growing steadily and increasingly attracting more people and huge amount of support from local businesses.
"We've had lots of comments such as we are always a very good family friendly festival to go to. We are very hopeful we have raised a decent amount for charity."
Bands who performed included Taffy Was A Thief, Crowsaw, Big Sky and The Bug Club.
