THE Abergavenny Food Festival will be giving visitors the chance to dance alongside some of the UK's top chefs.

The various culinary talents that will be on display will be complimented by a selection of musical performers.

This year crowds can experience the enchanted atmosphere of Abergavenny’s castle. On both Friday and Saturday evening, the ancient walls will be filled with music, dancing, food and spectacular firework display.

A Street food supper party will take place at 7pm on Friday, September 16, so get your dancing shoes on as Le Chefs de Party Partie compère a night of great live music to kick start the weekend festivities.

The evening starts with the splendidly eclectic swing concoction Ish Kabibble, playing good time old-school jazz and sizzling, clarinet-led klezmer. They are followed by the five piece, all-girl band, Dana Immanuel and the Stolen Band who bring a touch of bayou alt-country eccentricity and get your feet stomping to their folk, blues, Amercicana and rock tunes.

On Saturday, the renowned Party at the Castle will entertain Welsh border band Little Rumba and Glastonbury regulars CoCo and The Butterfields.

Also entertaining food-loving visitors over the weekend will be The Bootleg Swing Band, Slippery Slope, The Café Sound of Andre Voiture Rouge, Abergavenny Sing with Us Choir and Mambo Jambo.

With this year's event having a international theme, foodies can enjoy food from across Europe including Dutch waffles, Italian delicacies and Welsh seafood along with a variety of beverages at the Blorenge Bar and Chase Bar.

Abergavenny Castle Site Manager and Co-ordinator of Entertainment, Alison Parry said: “Abergavenny Food Festival is Wales’ most popular food festival and every year we aim to make it that bit more special.

"The line-up of musical entertainment really ties in with the international theme the festival is offering this year. It’s one not to be missed."
